If we refer to racing pigeons sport, Oltenia is a very competitive area. In the seven associations that together form the province of Oltenia (Teleorman, Arges, Olt, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinti and Valcea), there are fanciers who successfully participate in all distance categories. Today we’ll present you the best fanciers at the provincial level, who excelled in the Short distance categories and managed to win the 1st place in Oltenia.

In almost every season, fanciers from Oltenia are among the best national competitors, the 2019 season makes no exception to this. For example, Alin Bejan from Arges, the 1st place at Old birds Short distance, will listen this year his national anthem from the first position of the national podium. Liviu Plavitu from Drobeta Turnu Severin, Mehedinti county, mastered the art of successfully competing young birds, as well as the old birds, already having a considerable track record in different categories, consisting of many cups at national level. For him, 2019’s competitional autumn was a very good one. In the province of Oltenia, in the Young birds Short distance category, Liviu Plavitu has no less than 83 young birds present in the provincial catalog, out of the total of 1350 achieving the norm. Thus, Liviu Plavitu occupies, besides the provincial 1st place, also the positions 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20, etc.

Ionut Suselea (MH) – 1st and 2nd provincial place for Yearlings Short distance, Yearlings Ace Speed ; places 1, 2 and 3 for category G Yearlings and provincial champion Breeders Short distance

Ionut Suselea from Mehedinti is the owner of two of the best yearlings for short distance categories in Oltenia and in the whole country. The cock 9007762 and the hen 9007779, both reproduced in 2018, are on the first two positions of the provincial ranking in the Yearlings Short distances categories, Ace Speed Yearlings, G Yearlings category, where in the third place comes another bird, but from the same loft. In all the categories mentioned above, these two yearlings keep the same places in the different rankings. For example, the Yearlings Short distance norm ended with 6.28 and 8.17 penalty points respectively. At Ace Speed Yearlings, a norm that is realized from 10 stages of competition, the two pigeons have norms of 80.85 and 242. 94 penalty points. At the same time, winning the 1st place on Breeders Short distance category, Ionut Suselea ends this season in a very special way. Above all, the cock 9007762/2018 is a triple national champion of Yearlings short distance, Ace Speed Yerlings and G Young birds category, and its “partner” closely pursuits the performance, occupying the 3rd National G Category and the 4th National Yearlings Short distance. In the breeders, Ionut Suselea ranks 2nd National.

Alin Bejan (Arges) – 1st place in Old birds Short distance

For old birds competition, the provincial champion of Oltenia is the cock 0000632/2017, competed by Alin Bejan from Arges county. “Kliciko”, as Alin Bejan’s new jewel was named, had a fantastic 2019 season. This pigeon finished the norm at Old birds Short distance with 3.21 penalty points, which was enough to win the 1st place National Old birds Short distance category. Among its very good stages, there are rankings as the 2nd place out of 10,187 pigeons, the 3rd place out of 7,089 pigeons or the 1st place out of 2,519 pigeons, in all the three races obtaining a penalty score below one point. Because it also competed very well last year, Kliciko will be the 2nd place National Short distance Palmares, but also the 3rd place National Ace Speed.
Also, Alin Bejan and his cock Kliciko are in the first provincial place in the Short distance Palmares category. On the other side, in breeders’s competition, the 1st place Breeders Short distance Palmares was won in 2019 by Iulian Haiducu from Olt.
