Allround Yearlings category, dominated by fanciers from Mehedinţi county

Today we continue with the Allround Yearlings Category, where a rather rare situation is found. The first two places are occupied by pigeon fanciers from the same association, from Mehedinți County, who dueled until the last stage for the place they should occupy in the final ranking. Liviu Plăvițu was the winner in the end, and the team of Iordache & Adăscăliței, because it is about the three, had to be “satisfied” with the second place. They are followed by Cosmin Olteanu, with the super hen RO-20-0020655, triple champion in 2021.

“No season without a national cup” seems to be the motto of Liviu Plăvițu from Mehedinţi, national champion in 2021. He won again a national trophy in the favorite category, Allround, where the young cock RO-20-2002217 obtained a coefficient of 16.62 penalty points. As for pigeon fanciers Adrian Adăscăliței and Maricel Iordache, who form the Iordache & Adăscăliței team, the 2021 season was just as good, with four national trophies won. Two of them were won by the hen RO-20-0578850, national champion of the Speed ace Yearlings category and vice-champion at Allround yearlings, with 17.89 penalty points. As for Cosmin Olteanu’s performances, made with the hen RO-20-0020655, there is not much to add.

New season, another national trophy in the list

Fanciers like Liviu Plăvițu make the sport with pigeons seem, at first sight, extremely simple. However, this is not the case at all, and the dozens of national trophies that Liviu Plăvițu has won over time are the result of exceptional pigeons, hard work and unlimited passion. In 2021, the one who shone in Liviu Plăvițu’s loft is the young cock RO-20-2002217, who finished the general at the Allround with the best score in the country and thus won the national champion trophy. Its evolution has been very sustained. The “weakest” place he occupied was 7. “The cock competed very well all season. As can be seen in the centralizations, he had good stages all season. He is the son of the double national champion in the Speed and Speed Palmares 2018 category, purchased by me from Sergiu Stoin, paired with a hen with Vandenabeele origins, great-granddaughter of Rudy, from Florin Doștețean. She competed in the widowhood, which began about three weeks before the first stage, after the pigeons had raised one chick at a time. The training program is an intense one, with two hours of flying around the loft, per day, at the beginning of the season, and with two or three training sessions with the car once the stages have started, the distance of which varies. The food used is from Versele Laga, and the supplements are mostly CEST Pharma “, Liviu Plăvițu detailed.

Team Iordache & Adăscăliței, in the national tops since the debut in the new association

About the Iordache & Adăscăliței team, from the same county, Mehedinți, we also mentioned when we approached the Middle distance Youngsters category, where the two occupy the 2nd National place. It is on the same position in Allround Yearlings, with the hen RO-20-0578850, who obtained 17.89 penalty points in the six centralized stages for the category norm. One of its best stages was the last one, the long distance competition with the launch from Cetatea Albă, in the Republic of Moldova, where it took the 3rd place on the launch, against 1,264 pigeons, at a distance of 612 km. “This hen was the best pigeon in our loft last season. She finished all 12 stages in which she was engaged and won two national trophies. For us, this season was a real test, because we changed the location and started again only with young pigeons. But they didn’t disappoint us at all. The hen is a Koopman-Vandenabeele combination and 50% comes from the German breeder Hans Hirn, ie the Koopman part. Half is descended from Gaby Vandenabeele’s Rudy and Super Romeo, and on Koopman’s side is the line of Wondere Dirk, the son of another exceptional pigeon, Kleine Dirk. The pigeons competed as widows, but this hen mated with another hen in their compartment, at the end of the season, they laid eggs, and she was very motivated. The last three stages he competed practically in the natural, in the last Long distance race, where he took the 3rd place on the launch, I even gave him a little chick. Before widowing, the pigeons take out one or two chicks each, and last year they were separated about 10 days before the first competition. The food we use is a mixture of several Verses Laga and Vanrobaeys varieties, which we combine depending on the situation. Another aspect we pay close attention to is the health of the pigeons. In winter we only treat Salmonella, two weeks before the first competition we treat respiratory problems, and one week after the flight set the eggs, we treat trichomoniasis. For the rest of the season, we only treat if we have big problems. If there are problems with one or two pigeons, we prefer to eliminate them. Anyway, at least we didn’t go down without explaining ourselves first. We compete seriously and we only stop those who are capable of performance and very resistant, with strong immunity “, said Adrian Adăscăliței.

Cosmin Olteanu (PH) has the best yearling of 2021

With the four national trophies she won in the 2021 season, three of which are first place, the hen RO-20-0020655 competed by Cosmin Olteanu is, by far, the best young man of the 2021 season in the one-day categories. At General Tineret, where he ranks 3rd National, he finished the norm with 25.64 penalty points. One of his best stages was 292 km away, where he won first place out of 6,844 pigeons. Also, four of the five stages of Middle distance were with penalties below one point. Her score was affected by a slightly lower ranking at the Long distance stage, where she was penalized with 21.30 points. But, even so, her results are hard to match because, as I mentioned, the same hen is the champion of the Speed, Middle distance and G-Yearlings categories. “Last year we flew only the hens, who competed widows, but with their partner at home. I want to tell you that there were stages when they saw their cocks before basketing and stages when they did not meet, in both cases arriving just as well. In terms of training, we did the same, that is, there were stages when they were taken to training and stages when they were not taken. What is certain is that they came just as well. I used a Hungarian mixture as food, and I used Tollyamin and Belgasol as supplements. The national champion is reproduced from a cock with Rudy Van Reeth origins, and his mother is a hen from Jos Cools “, said Ciprian Mălescu, the manager of Cosmin Olteanu’s kennel.
