In the three years since the World Best Pigeon debuted, a championship organized annually by the International Pigeon Federation (FCI) for affiliated states, Romania has had an increasingly better performance. The Romanian pigeon fanciers managed, among other exceptional results, to win, in all three editions, the 1st place in the most difficult, beloved and coveted category, the Marathon. Moreover, in 2021, at the request of Romania, FCI set up a new category for the distance stages, the Super Marathon, and since the first year the Romanian pigeon fanciers have occupied the first two positions of the ranking.

We have 6 categories of the World Best Pigeon Championship. The first category is the Speed category and is dedicated to short distance pigeons. It is achieved by ranking five races with a distance between 100 and 400 kilometers. The second category is Middle Distance, and consists of the rankings of four races, with a distance between 300 and 600 kilometers. Long Distance is the third category of the World Best Pigeon competition, for which the pigeons must rank three races with a distance of more than 500 kilometers. The fourth category is All-round, and is made up of six stages, from 100 to over 500 kilometers, while the fifth category is Marathon, whose norm involves the ranking of two races of over 700 kilometers . The last category, Super Marathon, has as a scale the results of the pigeons obtained in two stages of over 900 kilometers.
If in 2019 we presented ourselves on the podium of the World Best Pigeon championship with a world champion title and a 3rd place in all five categories at stake, in 2020 we managed six appearances on the podium of this competition, with a world champion trophy, three vice-champion places and two 3rd place places, which proved everyone the very high level of Romanian pigeon fancier sport. In the 2021 edition, we also managed six podium finishes, but this time we get two World Best Pigeon world champion places, in both Marathon categories, and four vice-champion places of this international championship. Colossal results for all of us, participants and lovers of this wonderful sport, which unquestionably demonstrates the very high level of Romanian pigeon sport, unprecedented in the last hundred years. Without false modesty, for example, in the Marathon categories, the fanciers in our country dominated the tops of this competition.
