Vicențiu Scripcaru, national and Olympic champion in the Long distance category, could not be missing from the Gold Club ranking

Multiple national and Olympic champion, Vicentiu Scripcaru, from the town of Tecuci, Galați county, managed this season to win one of the great prizes of the Gold Club, occupying the 8th national place for the cock with the series 2004882-2021, who ended this norm with a total of 18.53 points.

As the fancier from Galăța rightly says, the “secret” to winning within the Gold Club is, first of all, to participate. “I’ve been participating in the Gold championship since its first season, being, for me, an alternative to what the OLR offers. It was the best project the Federation had in years. However, I think the 2021 rule changes weren’t the most inspiring. This project was designed and worked for the pigeon fancier, and with the new changes the odds are shifting to the big associations. From the start, the chances decrease if you are part of a small association, where few rings are bought. But as everything is changing at the moment in this Union, I hope that this regulation will also improve. In all these years I participated, in each season, with 10 rings. Physically, I competed year after year with 5-6 pigeons, the rest of the pigeons up to ten, how many were ringed, did not make it to the competition for various reasons. Since 2016, since I’ve been participating, I’ve constantly been in the top 5 per county with one or more yearlings in the Gold category”, declared the Galățian champion.
The cock that this season managed to achieve the top ten positions at the national level in the Gold rankings is a bird based on pigeons with a tradition of winning races in the Long Distance category, having both national and Olympic champions in the family tree. “The pigeon that occupied the 8th national Club Gold place, the cock with the series 2004882-2021, was played in the 5 long distance stages of the flight plan of Galati county. He was prepared for stages using widowhood method. Being young, he will continue his flying career, following the Palmares norm next season. He is the son of 0454516-2015, who in 2016 took the 4th place national Long distance ace yearlings category. 0454516-2015, in turn, is a son of the super breeder «237», a bird from 2009 based on pigeons from the George Carteus line. The winner of the Gold award, 2004882-2021, is a half-brother to the pigeon 0405518-2019, which this year is the national champion of the Long distance ace Palmares category. At the same time, he is also the grandson of 005535-2017, the only Olympic champion pigeon that Romania has had so far, in the Long distance category, in the year 2022, at the Oradea Olympics”, declared Vicentiu Scripcaru.
