Continuing to promote the provincial championships, we stopped today in the Muntenia Province, to present you the champions from the Short distance category. In Muntenia have been achieved some of the lowest penalty scores, so it will be interesting to watch which will be the final hierarchy at national level.

Muntenia, province of which the associations Constanta, Ialomita, Calarasi, Ilfov, Bucharest, Prahova, Dambovita, Giurgiu, Buzau, Braila, Prahova and Tulcea are part of, is the area with the greatest competition for the short distance categories. Muntenia has a large number of fanciers, and this year several associations from this province have signed up impressive numbers of pigeons in the first stages. For example, in Prahova, if we had competed after a single flight plan, we would have had a first race with over 22,000 pigeons and almost 700 fanciers.

Cosmin Olteanu (PH) – 1st place Provincial Young birds Short distance category
After the young birds season, the battle for the 1st place went between the fanciers in Bucharest and Prahova, in other words, the strongest associations in this group. The first 35 places out of the total of 2110 norms made at Young birds Short distance are occupied by pigeons from these two associations. The 2019 provincial champion is Cosmin Olteanu from Urlati, Prahova, whose young bird, 0019185/2019 had a very good coefficient, of only 3.93 penalty points. Of the five stages nominated for the norm, 0019185/2019 has not less than four with a score below 1 (0,23; 0,47; 0,51; 0,99) and only a 1.73 points race.

Team Popa + Marin (DB) – 1st place Provincial Yearlings
The best yearling in the speed races in the province of Muntenia was the hen 0022000/18, of team Popa + Marin in Dambovița. With three stages below 1 penalty point, the hen from Popa + Marin loft ended the norm at Yearlings Short distance with 6.40 points. This pigeon is also a provincial champion at Yearlings Ace Speed, at the end of a season in which it ranked all the 12 competitions that was signed up for.

Marian-David Antofie (IF) – 1st place Provincial Old Birds Short distance
At Old Birds Short distance, Marian-David Antofie from Ilfov and his cock 0378733/2016 are the provincial champions of the 2019. The cock was 1st in the provincial ranking, of which there are also 3874 pigeons, with a score of 6.17 points. After a season with 12 rankings out of 12 races, 0378733/2016 won, besides the 1st place Old Birds Short distance, the 1st place for Old birds Middle distance and the 2nd place Old birds Ace Speed, results that make it, at the end of the 2019 season, one one of the best cocks in Muntenia.

Simion Emil & Dumitran Stelian (BB) – 1st place Breeders Short distance
Equally eloquent to understand the competition from Short distance category in Muntenia is the ranking of breeders. No less than 674 breeders met the requirements of the Breeders Short distance norm in 2019. Of these, the provincial 1st place was occupied by the Bucharest team Simion Emil & Dumitran Stelian, with 12.34 penalty points. Absolutely all the five races nominated for the norm were competitions in which the two won the 1st place in breeders. Moreover, for them, 2019 was a pretty good competitive year, with many important results at the races, but also overall, after the finalization of the centralizations.
