To see how combative provinces of Romania (Moldova, Muntenia, Oltenia, Transylvania and the Western province) are and on what categories of distance, we propose a series of comparative presentations of the last three seasons. For each one, together with their derivatives, the criterion will be the ranking in the top three at national level. Then, we will present a hierarchy of provinces, the awards they received each year, plus a few other analyzes. In order to make a transparent ranking of the provinces, the trophies won will get the following score: 1st place – 3 points, 2nd place – 2 points, 3rd place – 1 point. At the end, we will calculate the total score achieved on all three seasons of each province and, according to this criterion, we will make a final ranking of them. So, for today we propose the analysis of the Ace Marathon category.
Regarding the Ace Marathon category, we must mention that it benefits from national rankings only for old birds, for yearlings and the related palmares. Therefore, there is no norm for fanciers in this category, and at the level of youngsters, although the possibility exists, in the analyzed period we did not meet any norm of Ace Marathon made by a youngster. In the five provinces, the results obtained in the last three years are as follows:
Moldova
Out of the total of 30 national trophies available in the Ace Marathon category, Moldavian fanceirs won 13, almost half of them. In 2017, fanciers from Moldova won the following national trophies: 1 and 3 National Ace Old birds Marathon, 1, 2 and 3 National Ace Marathon Old birds Palmares, 1 National Ace Marathon 3 years Palmares. One year later, in 2018, fanciers from same province won five other national trophies: 2 and 3 National Ace old birds Marathon, 1st and 2nd National Ace Yearlings Marathon, 2 National Ace Marathon Palmares. Last year, only two national trophies in the Ace Marathon category were won by Moldova, 2nd place National Ace Marathon Old birds and 1st place National Ace Marathon Palmares.
Vest
The next province in terms of the number of trophies won is the Western Province. Fanciers from here have won a total of seven national cups at the Ace Marathon in the last three years, at least one trophy each season. In 2017, they won four national trophies, dominating the Ace Maraton Yearlings category: 2 National As Marathon Old birds and, as mentioned, 1st, 2nd and 3rd places National Ace Marathon Yearlings; In 2018, the 3rd place National Ace Marathon Palmares, and last year, the 3rd place National Ace Marathon old birds and 2nd place National Ace Marathon Palmares.
Oltenia
The breeders from Oltenia province also competed quite well in the Ace Marathon category. Even though they have won a total of only five national trophies in this category, three of them are gold national trophies. The start was given in the 2018 season, with the 1st place National Ace Marathon Palmares, and in 2019 they won the 1st National Ace Old birds Marathon places, 1 and 2 National Ace Yearlings Marathon and 3rd National Ace Marathon Palmares.
Muntenia
For the last three seasons, Muntenia fanciers have won four national trophies for Ace Marathon: 2nd and 3rd place National Ace Marathon 3 years Palmares in 2017, 3rd place National Yearlings Marathon Ace in 2018, and 3rd place National Ace Yearlings Marathon in 2019. Instead, in Transylvania, for the last three years, the only trophy won was the National champion for Ace Marathon Old birds category in 2018 season.
Conclusions:
First of all, it is worth noting the rather serious diversity of provinces that have won 1st National places in the Ace Marathon category. Apart from Muntenia, from the other provinces he wave at least one national champion of the category, which proves that there is potential and chances of winning in any province of the country. Fanciers from Moldova and the West were the most competitive in the first two seasons, but Oltenia played very wel last year. In 2017, fanciers from Moldova won both the most and the most important national cups at the Ace Marathon, being rivaled sometimes by those from the West and Muntenia provinces. The 2018 season was much more balanced from this point of view. First of all, all five provinces appear for the first time in the table of winners, national titles being won in other provinces besides Moldova and West. Last season was, again, balanced enough, the best performance being made by fanciers from Oltenia. It is also worth noting that we have encountered cases when all three national places of a subcategory have been won by fanciers in the same province. The usual final ranking looks like this:
- Moldova- 28 points (13/2017 + 10/2018 + 5/2019 = 28)
- West and Oltenia- 12 points (West: 8/2017 + 1/2018 + 3/2019 = 12; Oltenia: 3/2018 + 9/2019 = 12)
- Muntenia- 5 points (3/2017 + 1/2018 + 1/2019 = 5)
- Transylvania – 3 points (3/2018)
