The first competition with distances exceeding 300 km for fanciers from Maramureș took place last week. The Budapest race was organized on June 14, and the Robas + Bucaciuc team won the 1st and 3rd places on the launch. In the fanciers’ ranking, the first place was also occupied also by a team, Haidu B. + Robaș M., from Seini. For the first stage of Budapest this year, 3,385 pigeons were basketed, and 110 fanceirs from the Maramureș Pigeon Association participated. The launch of the pigeons took place at 06:25, and the battle for the first places in the ranking was between the fanciers from the Seini. More precisely, the first 17 places were occupied by the fanciers from Seini, with the team Robaș + Bucaciuc on the 1st and 3rd places.

The collaboration between the well-known Romanian pigeon fancier established in Belgium, Daniel Bucaciuc, and Gabriel Robaș, from Seini, Maramureș, is becoming more and more fruitful every year. After already winning several national titles in the past seasons, the team Robaș + Bucaciuc starts very well the current season of competitions. After some very good rankings in the first races, the two fanciers from Maramureș won last week the first stage of this year, the competition in Budapest (340 km) on June 14th.
The winning pigeon is a one year old hen, RO-19-0810070, which has already ranked all five races so far. The arrival time was 11:01:42, after more than four hours of flight, and the average speed achieved during the flight of 340 km was 1,229 m / min. “The hen who won at this stage gives us great hopes for the future. She is the niece of his brother “Mr. Fantastic ”, a cock from Daniel, who won the 1st place KBDB Long distance in 2017, and the cousin of the hen who last year was the 1st National place for All-round Yearlings category. As a method of flight we use total widowhood and we compete with both cocks and hens. In terms of training, we went on the same methods as before, with intense training home, around the loft. The lack of time does not allow us to take them to many trainings by car, but before this race we managed to train them for 45 km”, explained Gabriel Robaș. In the same race, the 3rd pigeon in the rankings was also from the team from Maramures, and besides this, they managed to obtain the 2nd place in fanciers competition. They managed to rank 62 of the 81 pigeons engaged, obtaining a score of 8.64 penalty points. Also a team won first place on the podium in the fanciers’ ranking. As mentioned above, 110 fanciers took part in the competition in Budapest, and the first place was won by the team Haidu B. + Robas M. A group of 40 pigeons was hired by them in this race, 28 of them ranking it. The third and fourth pigeons that arrived home were were nominated in the team and by ranking 12th and 13th place on the launch, they managed to bring to the team Haidu B. + Robas M. the 1st place to fanciers competition, with a coefficient of 8 penalty points.
