The race in Dunavăț organized on June 13 by the Argeș Pigeon Association was one of proportions. Fanciers from Argeș and Vâlcea counties participated, and the competition in Dunavăț had 12,068 pigeons basketed, with 322 fanciers participating. The competition was dominated by team Șițoiu+Tudoran, their pigeons winning the first three places, and also the 1st place on fanciers competition. The launch of the pigeons for the Dunavăț stage took place at 05:40, and the distances were between 350 and 390 km. 7,801 pigeons and 192 fanciers participated from the Argeș Pigeon Association, which organized the competition, and 130 fanceirs from the Vâlcea Association, which basketed 4,267 pigeons. So it was reached the number of 12.000 pigeons and 322 fanciers participating.

Team Șițoiu+Tudoran dominates the race

The team from Vâlcea, Șițoiu + Tudoran, formed by Mădălin Șițoiu and Cosmin Tudoran, was established last year. The two pigeon fanciers compete from two locations, so that in the ranking appear the titles “Șițoiu + Tudoran” and “Tudoran + Șițoiu”, but, actually, the two teams are made up of the same two pigeon fanciers. For Dunavăț competition, team Șițoiu + Tudoran basketed 70 pigeons. Two yearlings competed by the two pigeon fanciers had a formidable race, by ranking 1st and 2nd on the launch. The two pigeons, a hen and a cock, arrived home at 10:58:07 and 10:58:09, and the average speed during the 389 km flight was 1,223 m / min. We compete from two different locations, both in the form of “Șițoiu + Tudoran” and “Tudoran + Șițoiu”. One of the lofts, the one in which the first two places of this race were won, is located in Galicea, Vâlcea County, and the second one, from which the 3rd place was won at the launch, is located in Mihăești, Vâlcea. From the two lofts we try to approach almost all categories, except the marathon category. The method we use is full widowhood, our pigeons are separated two weeks before the first competition of this season. The hen on the 1st place comes from Cătălin Ariciu and has Drapa, Gunter Pange and Van Dyck origins. The cock in second place flew very well in the other races of this year. It obtained the 5th place out of 8,215 pigeons and the 6th place out of 6,924 pigeons. The pigeon ranked third at this stage, competing from the second location, is a cock that has many good results. The pigeon has Gaby Vandenabeele and Gommaire Verbruggen origins, and among its important results I can mention the 2nd place Middle-distance 3 years Palmares in the 2019 Exhibition of Oltenia Province ”, explained Cosmin Tudoran.

For Dunavăț stage, 50 pigeons from the second location were also basketed, from which they compete under the name “Tudoran + Șițoiu”. The first competing pigeon from this loft ranked third on the launch, so that Mădălin Șițoiu and Cosmin Tudoran won, together, the first three places in the competition out of more than 12,000 pigeons. In order for everything to be perfect, the two also won the 1st place for fanciers, in the form of “Tudoran + Șițoiu”, with 46 pigeons ranked out of 50 basketed.
