As we expected, the three national races this weekend, the last of the 2020 competitive year, were three spectacular ones. Apart from the Izium National competition, whose winner was established from the first day, in Berlin and Birzai, the 1st place was won only on the second day of the competition.

For all three national competitions the pigeons were released on Friday morning, August 7, 2020, and apart from Berlin National, a competition from which no pigeon managed to arrivet home on the first day, Izium and Birzai had arrivals from the first day.

Berlin National, won by Petru Gorcea (AR)

This year’s winner of the Berlin National competition is Petru Gorcea, from the Arad Pigeon Association. The result was made by a mature hen, reproduced in 2017, 3040799, who arrived home at 08:03:34. The hen was the first pigeon announced on the competition, a position from which she was not dethroned by any other pigeon, covering the distance of 997 km with an average speed of 965 m / min. Vasile Tuvenia (VN) wins Birzai National

Vasile Tuvenia, member of the Columbofile Vrancea Association, managed the performance to win this year’s Birzai National competition. He had one of the longest distances in the competition, 1,202 km, and the victory was brought to him by a young cock, 0404803/2019, who arrived home at 05:27:39, on the second day of competition. Izium Național, won for the second consecutive year by a fancier from Dolj

Cristinel Găinaru from Dolj won this year’s edition of the Izium Național contest, being for the second consecutive year when the national race of Oltenia is won by a member of organizing associacion, Dolj. The cock RO-2016-0740392 finished the race at 18:29:10, covering the distance of 1,141 km with an average speed of 1474 m / min.
