Pigeons competing for this category must rank a total of 10 races of over 475 km in two consecutive competitive years. As the norm of the Long distance ace category is achieved starting with the 2020 season only from middle distance and long distance races, and distances between 475 km and 760 km, the pigeons are mandatory to rank all five long distance races organized in each season. It automatically means that those pigeons that meet this norm have not missed any competition in this category for two consecutive seasons.
In the 2020 season, a number of 111 pigeons managed to meet the norm of the category. If we take into account that in the 2019 season, 1,580 yearlings and old birds achieved the norm for Long distance Ace, we can see that only 7% of them achieved the record in 2020. Of course, it is not mandatory that all 1,580 pigeons have been competed this season, but it is obvious that a small number of pigeons manage to meet the Long distance Ace Palmares norm.
Vicențiu Scripcaru (GL), national champion in 2020
Fancier Vicențiu Scripcaru, from Tecuci, is the national champion of the long distance Ace Palmares category this season. The result was obtained with the cock 0005535/2017, who is also the national champion of the Long distance Palmares category this season. Therefore, considering its results, the cock of the pigeon fancier from Galaţi is one of the best pigeons in Romania in the last two seasons at Long distance and Long distance Ace categories. In the category we approach today, Vicențiu Scripcaru’s cock obtained 251.78 penalty points, after competing as follows: 1/2,168 pigeons (662 km), 3/2,203 pigeons (662 km), 3/1,227 pigeons (662 km), 6/1,659 pigeons (662 km), 288/2,665 pigeons (586 km), 2/645 pigeons (657 km), 2/582 pigeons (657 km), 5/475 pigeons (722 km), 45/934 pigeons (662 km) and 241/4,414 pigeons (588 km). “He is a cock who, as a young bird, did not compete at all, because he was late breed. His father is from Roman Claudiu, grandson of Georges Carteus’ cock De 700, and his mother is from the Verbove brothers. I compete with pigeons using widowhood method and for several years I have not reproduced before widowing them. This year they laid two rows of eggs, without hatching. I use the Superstar mixture from Versele Laga, and for preparation and recovery I use the typical products: glucose, electrolytes, etc. I think food is the most important thing. From the food, the pigeon must take almost everything it needs. The pigeons can see their pairs only when they arrive hoem from races, and I did one or two trainings a week, at a distance of 40-50 km. This cock has two more brothers, who took the places of 3 Național Long distance Ace in 2015, and 4 Național Long distance Ace Yearlings, in 2016 ”, said Vicențiu Scripcaru.
The Predună + Purcărea (OT) team, on the podium for Long distance Ace Palmares
After occupying the 2nd place National Long distance Fanciers Palmares, the team Predună + Purcărea, formed by the pigeon fanciers Florin Predună and Cosmin Purcărea, from Slătioara, Olt County, ranks on the same place of the national podium in the category Long distance Ace Palmares. Another cock is the one who also brought these pigeon lovers the national trophy, with 3033023/2017, obtaining a coefficient of 327.58 penalty points in the ten competitions he ranked. Very interesting is that this cock is the nephew of Hector, the triple champion of the team for Long distance Old birds, Long distance Ace Palmares and Long distance palmares categories, being reproduced from a half-brother of his. To obtain this trophy, the vice-champion had to rank as follows: 4/2,589 pigeons (632 km), 12/6,348 pigeons (655 km), 58/15,395 pigeons (608 km), 294/19,524 pigeons (573 km). ), 144/4,905 pigeons (655 km), 64/2,093 pigeons (651 km), 116/2,923 pigeons (589 km), 189/3,564 pigeons (655 km), 284/4,106 pigeons (651 km) and 164/1,964 pigeons (655 km). “The pigeons compete in the first three races as widows. Before the fourth long distance race they are left together, they compete on eggs at the fourth long distance race, and at the fifth one, for the pigeons we are interested in, we put a 5-6 days old chick before basketing. We use Beyers food and the only training we did for the long distance pigeons was around the loft, every day, when they had to fly for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. This cock is the nephew of Hector, triple national champion, and has twice pedigree on the 2010 Belgian cock, which is the basis of our one-day breeding loft. Of all our champions, 80% are based on this pigeon “, explained Cosmin Purcărea.
Gabriel Simion (BB), ranks 3rd National place
Gabriel Simion is the son of the well-known pigeon fancier Emil Simion who, together with Stelian Dumitran, forms a successful team. Although recognized for the results of the short distance and middle distance races, the pigeon fanciers from Bucharest have recently started a new project, through which they intend to approach the Long distance and Long distance Ace categories. Thus, winning the 3rd place National Long distance Ace Palmares is only the certainty that he manages wonderfully even at the distance stages. Because the team only competes with hens, obviously, a hen, with the series 0521746/2017, is the one that obtained this result. In ten long distance races in which she participated, she ranked 40/6,467 pigeons (551 km), 70/6,391 pigeons (645 km), 52/4,119 pigeons (681 km), 187/12,371 pigeons (585 km). ), 103/5,681 pigeons (645 km), 221/9,211 pigeons (666 km), 199/8,014 pigeons (681 km), 113/3,699 pigeons (645 km), 369/4,311 pigeons (680 km) and 316/3,966 pigeons (645 km), rankings after which he obtained a coefficient of 331.01 penalty points. “As it is known, we decided to approach these categories as well, and this result can only make us happy and give us confidence. It is for the second year we also participate in the long distance races. Last year, at the beginning, this hen was the 3rd place in Bucharest at Long distance Ace, and this year we managed to win, besides the national trophy, the 1st place Long distance Palmares in Bucharest, the 1st place Long distance Ace Palmares also on the association, and the 1st place provincial Long distance Ace. For the long distance races, we had a batch of 26 widowed hens, their cocks waiting for them home in each one, but after the first stage we withdrew 5 young hens and continued only with 20. We use food from Beyers, somewhere in 10-12 assortments, from which we mix as we see the pigeons need. Hens competed for the long distance races received the last 6-8 fatter meals, including peas, which is not the case with those that go to the short distance stages. We do a training during the basketing week, from a distance of 70-80 km, and for motivation we use different methods. There were races when the hens saw their cocks before basketing, stages when they saw each other after training and never before basketing and stages when they could stay together all night before basketing. I mean, this hen was motivated in different ways and performed well every time. We consider that the good pigeon comes regardless of the situations, especially from the long distance races, when the pigeons stayed in the car for three days. Health and training are what help them in such competitions “, said Stelian Dumitran (foto right).
