At the end of the 2020 season, two of the three national trophies that will be awarded for this category, the 1st National place and the 3rd National place, were won in the Dolj Pigeon Association. Also from this area is the national vice-champion of this category, a title that was won in the Vâlcea Association. As for the pigeon fanciers who won the three national trophies, suffice it to say that the 2020 season was one of the best in their careers. The 1st place was awarded by George Vochin, the second place by Vali Tudor and the third place by the team Poenaru + Călin.

The Allround Fanciers category, as in the case of pigeons, is quite complex, its norm being achieved with races from several distance categories. There must be at least one stage in each category between the six competitions in which the fancier must complete the team, to rank the first two pigeons out of the first five nominated on each distance category: 1-3 stages between 95-420 km, 1-3 stages between 285-630 km and 1-3 stages over 475 km. This is how George Vochin, the national champion of the category, was centralized, including a marathon race, as well as the national vice-champion Vali Tudor.

George Vochin from Dolj is the one who wins the 1st National Allround Fanciers in the 2020 season. His coefficient is 18.65 penalty points, which results in an average of just over 3 points for each of the six stages. As for the distance categories, the competitions with which George Vochin won this trophy are two Short distance, three Middle distance and a marathon competition, but more important to remember is that in all six stages, George Vochin won 1st place in Fanciers. “Approximately 50 pigeons compete each year in the 100 to 700 km stages, pigeons coming from the Elzinga, Koopman, Dijkstra and Schaerlaeckens lines. I use three types of food from Versele Laga: Gerry, Superstar and Energy. The pigeons are expected with Gerry from the competition, the next days they will receive Gery with Superstar, and on the weekend Superstar with Energy. I do two trainings a week at a distance of 80 km and I study the behavior of the pigeons. In order to bet on them, the team must train very well before the race, to eat well. Basically, to have a behavior from which to realize that they are in shape, and pigeon fanciers know what this means. This year, my most consistent pigeons in the short categories, which also helped me in the team, are the 7th and 9th places nationally at Short distance old birds​​”, explained George Vochin

Vali Tudor (VL), national vice-champion

In the same ranking, George Vochin is followed by Vali Tudor from Vâlcea, who obtained a coefficient of 29.98 penalty points. In his case we have, among the six centralized competitions, a Short distance ​​stage, three Middle distance, a Long distance stage and a Marathon stage, which means an even wider range of distance categories in which Vali Tudor managed to perform. Apart from a semi-long distance competition, in which Vali Tudor took 4th place in the fanciers, all the other rankings are in first place. “About the pigeons with which I participate in the Allround stages, ie the ones in the country and the long distance ones, and some even in the marathon, I also mentioned on other occasions. They are based on a cock purchased from Reșița, from Marian Dumitrache, but also original pigeons Peter Janssen. They compete in widowhood, and for the team I rely on experienced pigeons. One of the pigeons with which I managed to win this trophy is Olympic Gold Champion, the 2019 Gold Club champion and the winner of the 3rd place National Long distance Palmares in the 2020 season. Another is the cock 9003337/2018, who won the 3rd place National Allround last season, 2nd place National Allround Palmares and 3rd place National Category H. Another team pigeon was the hen 177145/2018, which won in 2020 the Traian Nițescu Trophy. She is a good sister with 9003365/2018, a cock who competed very well and occupies the 8th place National Allround Palmares, the 11th place National Ace Old birds and many other very good places in the national championship in different categories. Another basic pigeon for the team was the hen 9008387/2018, the county champion in Marathon ace old birds, but also the hen 9003399/2018, winner of a Gold award in 2019 and who helped me last year in the team at most stages “, he declared Vali Tudor.

For the Doljean team Poenaru + Călin, winning the 3rd place National Allround Fanciers is the second national trophy of the 2020 season won in the fanciers’ rankings, after they managed a 2nd National and Short distance ​​Fanciers place. In the centralized stages, of which three are in the Short distance ​​category, two are in the Middle distance and one competition is in the Long distance, the team Poenaru + Călin accumulated a total penalty of 45 points. In four of these stages, the two pigeon fanciers took first place in the fanciers, and in two other stages they ranked second. “About three quarters of the flight group are pigeons that participate in all the stages in the country, being employed week by week. We compete for total widowhood, and for feeding we use the range mixtures from Versele Laga. We do several trainings between stages, depending on how the pigeons’ condition. At the same time, we try to follow the fittest of the pigeons, considering how quickly they recover, the way they train, how quickly they regain their vitality after a competition and other aspects. In this way, we try to select the most prepared pigeons from the flight group and bet on them for the team. We also use experienced pigeons, such as, for example, the national champion from National ace Palmares, who helped us to the team every time ”, mentioned Răzvan Călin.
