As you may have already guessed, today we are talking about the National Birzai competition, the 2021 edition, in which an impressive number of pigeon fanciers took part and which rose, from the point of view of competitiveness, to the height of expectations. As for the winners, Birzai Național was an opportunity to reaffirm the Măgirescu + Ojog + Dorneanu trio, from Bacău, pigeon fanciers who won first place at the launch. In the general ranking of fanciers, the winner is Sorin Racolta from Suceava.

„The super marathon race of Romania”, as the National Birzai competition is known in Moldova, had its fourth edition this season. Although pigeon fanciers in this area did not have an easy season either, for Birzai National there was a real “general mobilization”, so the participation figures are impressive. First of all, we are talking about 1,344 fanciers, coming from 17 counties, and secondly, we are talking about no less than 15,735 pigeons at the starting line. If we look at the ranking of pigeons we can see that for most pigeon fanciers the first pigeons to arrive were the team ones, so the battle for the first places in the ranking of fanciers was very difficult. Sorin Racolta from Suceava came out of this “clash” as winner, who obtained a score of 3.69 points with two very good rankings in the general rankings, the first two pigeons arriving in his loft being team pigeons. These are the pigeons 2072622/2017 and 0949967/2020, ranked 19th and 39th (950 km) on the launch. “I started competing in 2016, but until this year I left the country and I did not personally deal with pigeons. This year, I started the season with 100 pigeons, which I competed in the first two stages of the widow’s marathon, and in Birzai I went natural, as a nesting position on the basketing day with eggs of 5-6 days. The two pigeons were nominated for the team because they came very well to Madonna, and now we expected it to be a difficult stage, so we chose those who did very well at the Madona race, who it was just as difficul.
