2021 was the first year when the Romanian pigeon fanciers passionate about OLR system benefited from a national championship dedicated exclusively. Through specially appointed representatives, the Union of Romanian Pigeon Federations (UFCR) has also drawn up a regulation applicable at national level, and, following the registration of five pigeon OLR in our country in competition and following the fulfillment of the criteria, the first champions also appeared.

Participation in the National Pigeon Championship, organized by the Union of Pigeon Federation in Romania, is based on a request from the owners of pigeon races, which of course meet certain criteria. Thus, following the request, in 2021, at the inaugural edition of this championship, five such competition organizers took part: “Andrei Șaguna” OLR from Arad, “International” OLR Brașov, “Superstar” OLR, “Romanian Golden Pigeon” OLR and the “Corabia” OLR.

Final Stage Champions

The National OLR Championship contains two categories that can be achieved by the participating pigeon fanciers. These are the Pigeon Breeder Category final stages and the Pigeon Breeder Category ACE, each provided with certain rules (see regulation). In the 2021 season, the criteria were met only for the Pigeon Breeder Category final stages, and the three winners are: Nagy Gyula (National 1st place), Team N. (National 2nd place) and Sinaucean Vasile Team A (National 3rd place). In addition to the well-deserved congratulations, the three winners will also be awarded by the Union of Pigeon Federation in Romania during the Champions Gala, which will take place on April 16, 2022 in Ploiești. In addition to the trophies, they will also receive three prizes with very substantial money. Thus, the occupant of the first place will receive 2,500 lei, the occupant of the second place will receive 1,500 lei, and the third place will be rewarded with 1,000 lei. “We want to congratulate all the participants, but especially those who won the three national trophies. It is a championship at the beginning of the road, but it started very well and we hope it will develop from year to year. UFCR will also organize this championship in 2022, which is why we ask the representatives of the OLRs to contact us to find out the criteria that must be met. Last but not least, I would like to point out that everything would not have gone so well without the involvement of Giani Urda, representing Moldova, Vladimir Nuta, responsible for the South and Stefan Filip, responsible for Transylvania and the Western Province, to whom thank you in this way “, declared the vice-president Alexandru Huzu, the UFCR delegate with the organization of the National OLR Championship.
For the same merits, both the three winners and the owners of the pigeon courts involved in 2021 in this championship, plus the members of the commission I mentioned, will be able to participate for free in next month’s Champions Gala in Ploieşti.
