The 7th national place within the Gold Club goes to the pigeon fancier Laurentiu Țuțianu from Brăila whose pigeon, with the 2006228-2021 M series, ended the season with a score of 16.00 penalty points. Gold’s performance thus completes an exceptional season for the fancier from Dobrogea who achieved a national 2nd place in the Quality-Endurance-Performance Old birdsTrophy, but also a national 3rd place in the Marathon Ace old birds category. “The cock 2006228-2021 is bred from two racing pigeons. His father is received as a gift from my colleague Ionuț Smeu and competed by me, his grandparents being, in turn, Gold award winners. His mother was a super flyer in the Allround category, where he won the 3rd place in the county General Yearlings in 2021. The cock 2006228-2021 was competed as a widower and was chosen in my team for the Gold Club due to the fact that his parents flew very well as yearlings and, in their turn, they come from birds that successfully “attacked” the Distance category”, said Laurențiu Țuțuianu, who says that two of his favorite categories are Distance and Marathon, but he also tackles categories such as Speed and Allround.
Gold Club – an opportunity to win substantial prizes
Even if he admits that, at first, he looked at this competition with a little skepticism, Laurentiu Țuțuianu quickly realized that the Gold rings are an opportunity to win valuable prizes, and now he is a consistent player. “I admit that at first I was a bit reserved about this competition. Then, studying more, I realized that the idea of establishing the Gold Club was an innovative idea that also brings material satisfactions, in addition to sporting satisfactions and, why not, even the fulfillment of some personal prides. Every year I purchased a number of 10 Gold rings and finally managed to win. I recommend all pigeon fanciers to buy rings, especially since now they also have this chance to play the Marathon Yearlings category. The value of the prize won is considerable and will help me in the maintenance of the pigeons in the future. About the Gold Club rulebook I could say that it is mostly fair, and those who thought it up will definitely make improvements if needed. I believe that improvements can still be made within the Columba Union, but transparency and fairness are qualities that you always encounter and are the basis of all results. It is not surprising that the pigeon fancier activity in Romania is in continuous development and I believe that, in a short time, we will end up comparing ourselves to many other European countries with tradition”, concluded the fancier from Braila.
