In the 2019 season, for the most important national trophies in the Long distance category, there was a very close fight. To give us an idea of how it competed in 2019, it is enough to remember that the three pigeons on the national podium at Long distance Old birds category are separated by only 2.03 penalty points. The national titles in this category will go to different areas of the country, but mainly in the southern area and in Moldova, which is why we propose below a presentation of the best pigeons at the National Long distance category in the 2019 season. Young birds Long distance is a pretty difficult norm to achieve, especially because most of the associations do not organize at least three stages for the young birds, necessary to fulfill this norm. Moldova is an exception to this, so that the best young birds of 2019 in the Long distance category are from this province.

Cristian Gagea (Suceava), champion and national runner-up in the Young birds Long distance category

For Cristian Gagea from Suceava, 2019 was a dream season. The young birds reproduced in 2019 brought him a great satisfaction, but also the greatest achievements at the provincial and national level. Of the 137 young birds who achieved the norm for this category, Cristian Gagea ranked first and second nationally, thus winning not one, but two national trophies. The best of them, the national champion, it seems it wore the lucky ring, being ready for performance in 2019. RO-19/0190019 managed to rank 1731 km, achieving the norm for the Long distance category with 67.93 penalty points.

Ionuț Cîrciumaru from Dolj, national champion at Yearlings Long distance category

For Yearlings Long distance, the national champion of the 2019 season is Ionuț Cîrciumaru from Băilești, one of the reference fanciers for Dolj County. Having managed to be very constant at three stages, his hen RO-18/1090755 competed by Ionuț Cîrciumaru accumulated the best coefficient of the competition. Thus, it was ranked 1st National Yearlings Long distance and contributed through its performance to one of the best seasons of Ionut’s career as a fancier.

Ionuț Voicu (Gorj), national champion for the Old birds Long distance category

One of the best scores of recent years in this category, at least from 2015 until now, was accomplished this year by Ionuț Voicu from Giurgiu. His cock, RO-15/020668, completed the norm with only 1.96 penalty points, considering that we are talking about a coefficient accumulated in three competitions.
This bird managed to rank 6th out of 12,371 pigeons, the 1st place out of 5,682 pigeons and on the 6th place out of 4,638 pigeons.
For Breeders category, this year’s National place was won by the team Feștilă Ioan & Cătălin from Neamț. For them, the 2019 season was a very special one in the Long distance category and not only here. They managed to achieve more than one first place, both on the race and also on breeders competition, so they can boast a truly exceptional 2019 season. It should be remembered that the norm for Breeders Long distance category was achieved only from the stages in which they won 1st place in the ranking, which makes Feștilă Ioan & Cătălin’s performance even more beautiful.
