The All-round category is a special one of the national pigeon championship in Romania, whose beauty and competitiveness attract alot of fanciers. The complexity of the stages required for this category is most likely the reason why many fanciers choose to duel for it. In order to fulfill the norm of the All-round category, the pigeons must rank at least six races that fall within the following distance intervals: 1 – 3 stages between 95 and 420 km; 1 – 3 stages between 285 and 630 km; 1- 3 stages over 475 km. At the end of the 2019 season, Nelu Bîzgan from Suceava is the national champion at All-round Young birds, team Robaș&Bucaciuc from Maramureș won 1st place National All-round Yearlings, The Oprișescu brothers from Dolj won the 1st National place for All-round Old birds, and for breeders competition, the 1st National place was won by the team Popa + Marin.
It should be mentioned that for young birds, the norm of the All-round category is achieved by ranking five stages, but following the same principle of distance as mentioned above. In 2019, 1122 young birds from all over the country achieved the norm for All-round category.
Nelu Bîzgan wins two national champion titles in 2019 with same pigeon!
For Nelu Bîzgan, 2019 was a season that will be remembered long time from now. His young flying birds competed very well, two of them winning three national titles: 1st National Young birds Middle-distance, 1st National Young birds All-round, and 2nd National Young birds Middle-distance. The 2 gold National medals for Middle-distance and All-round category were won by the pigeon with the ring RO-19-1014578, which thus becomes one of the most representative pigeons from his loft. For the same category, the national podium is completed by Mironescu Ioan and Nicu (SV), in second place, and Constantin Ploștinaru, in Mehedinți, in third place.
Team Robaș&Bucaciuc, 1st place National Yearlings All-round category
This year’s national champion is the hen RO-18-2042124, competed by the team Robaș & Bucaciuc from Maramureș. The result is not accidental at all, the young champion being the granddaughter of two super flyers: Mr. Fantastic from Daniel Bucaciuc, winner of the 1st National KBDB Long-distance Ace in 2017, and Contador, coming from Joël Verschoot. In the national ranking of Yearlings, Ionuț Cîrciumaru and George Vochin, both from Dolj, were placed on the following two places.
Oprișescu brothers, winners of the 1st place National Old Birds All-round
The best old bird that competed in 2019 for the All-round category was the cock RO-17-0245823 from Marius and Jean Oprișescu, Băilești, Dolj county. A super pigeon, a cock who brought in the loft of the Oprișescu brothers no less than three national cups: 1st National Old Birds All-round , 1st National Old Birds Ace Speed and 2nd National Old Birds Short distance category. On the same podium were Adrian Cîrciumaru (DJ), in second place, and team Ioan & Cătălin Feștilă (NT), in third place.
Team Popa+Marin, 1st place National Breeders, All-round category
In the ranking dedicated to fanciers, team Popa + Marin holds the supremacy after the 2019 season. For these two from Dâmbovița, the All-round category is the favorite one, both for pigeons and fanciers rankings. Maybe a bonus is given to the ranking of breeders, because it is the one that demonstrates their ability to always select the best in-form pigeons of that moment. For this season, team Popa + Marin counted on eight of their pigeons from the flying loft, of which it is obvious that they did not disappoint them. Besides, it was difficult not to perform, because we are talking about the pigeons that have already won several national cups, such as hen 22000/2018, 2nd place National Yearlings Short Distance 2019 and 2nd place Olympic Team, G category. The races where team Popa + Marin excelled and managed to win the 1st place National Breeders All-round (28,05 penalty points) are only stages of the 1st place: 1/143 breeders, 1/140 breeder, 1/141 breeder, 1/64 breeder, 1/56 breeder, 1/36 breeder.
