Two races from the 2020 competition year have already been consumed in the Alba County, Racing Pigeon Association. The first one, Lăpuș 1 (120-160 km) took place on May 28, and the second, Livada (170-190 km), was organized on June 2nd. The common denominator of both stages was the pigeon fancier Miklos Szekely from Blaj, who authoritatively won both stages, for pigeons and also for fanciers ranking. At the first competition of this season organized by the Alba Pigeon Association, Lăpuș 1 (Maramureș; 120-160 km), were involved 5,743 pigeons, and 124 fanciers. For the second one, Livada, Satu-Mare county, participated over 5,000 pigeons and 127 fanciers.
Miklos Szekely wins the first 12 places of the first race and the first two places of the second one
For the first stage of this season, Miklos Szekely basketed a team of 70 pigeons. His method of flight is total widowhood, competing with both cocks and hens. With this selected team of pigeons, the fancier from Blaj clearly dominated the first competition in 2020. His pigeons ranked in the top 12 per launch, but this is not the only performance. In the first 32 pigeons in the ranking, no less than 29 are from Miklos Szekely. Practically, apart from the 13th, 15th and 18th places, the rest, from the 1st to 32nd, were occupied by Miklos Szekely’s pigeons, which flew with an average speed of almost 1,500 m/min. The story was repeated somewhat similarly to the second contest. At the Livada stage (Satu-Mare; 170-190 km), which was attended by 5,085 pigeons and 127 fanciers, Miklos Szekely basketed 61 pigeons. Again, he managed the performance to win the 1st place, a result completed with the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th places in the top 10 on the competition.
Two races, two 1st places for fanciers competition
In both races held in Alba so far, apart from the first places on the launch, Miklos Szekely won also the 1st place in fanciers competition. The first of these he won with 3.18 penalty points and 51 pigeons ranked out of 70, and for the second he obtained a coefficient of 1.18 penalty points, ranking 39 pigeons out of 61. His team pigeons were in both competitions among the first to arrive, which shows a careful concern of the fancier from Blaj for this special category. For example, in the first competition, the first two pigeons in the team were ranked 4th and 14th. In the second race, the first pigeons in the team were ranked 2nd and 4th. Although it may surprise some, we must say that Miklos Szekely managed to win the fanciers competition with the same two pigeons, cocks RO-17-0583035 and RO-17-0583077. The first observation we can make, apart from the fact that the two males are two very constant pigeons, is that Miklos Szekely relies on the pigeons he already knows, experienced, and who have proven that they can fight for the first places.
