The national champion trophy for Iulian Anghel was won, this season, by the cock RO-18-0347900, who, in the ten centralized competitions for the norm, was particularly constant. He did best in the short stages (140-170 km), but he was also able to finish with low scores also races of 347 km. The „worst” race of this pigeon was 9.69 points, when it ranked 47th out of 4,849 pigeons. “As a yearling, this cock ranked 5th nationally. For this reason, I had high expectations from him and he did not disappoint me. He was competed using widowhood method, with the hen at home, whom he saw between 5 and 10 minutes before basketing. As food, I used Gerry from Versele Laga and Superstar a lot. The mother of this cock is a hen with Janssen origins, a hen that occupied the 3rd place National Ace in Romania in 2019, and the father is a cross of several families”, stated Iulian Anghel.

Adrian Cîrciumaru (DJ), again on the national podium

Doljean Adrian Cîrciumaru had, once again, a flying season with notable results, at the end of which he can add to his record, quite rich already, several national trophies. One of them is the 2nd place National Short distance Palmares, won by the cock RO-17-0245058, who last year won the 2nd place National Allround Old birds, and this year he is national champion in the Allround Palmares category. “The cock is a very good flier and is part of the family that gave me the best pigeons. His mother is a daughter of two of my Olympians, and his father is a cock from Nini Enăchescu, a son from his famous Achilles. I compete using widowhood method, pigeons are allowed to see each other before the race, but, for example, there were races when this cock did not see the hen before basketing and performed very good as well. I use the Superstar and Champion Plus mixes from Versele Laga, but I also add, for example, corn, when I think it is needed. The day before basketing, the pigeons receive an electrolyte, and training between stages is done on Wednesday or Thursday. The pigeons are launched separately, by rotation, from a distance of 30 km ”, explained Adrian Cîrciumaru.

Team Constantin F. + Ivănescu I. (AG) and the cock “Sultan” win the 3rd place National Short distance Palmares

The 2020 season was also a successful one for the team Constantin F. + Ivănescu I., from Pitești, Argeș County. A cock, called “Sultan”, is the reference of their loft, after he managed to win the 1st place National Ace Speed, the 1st place National Ace Speed Palmares and the 2nd place National Short distance Palmares. “The cock is an original Silviu Glodeanu and has brought us the greatest satisfactions so far in racing pigeons sport. He competed using widowhood method, like the whole flight group, being separated two weeks before the first competition, after raising a youngster. Usually, we prefer our pigeons to be calm when we basket them for the races, but there were also races when we let them see each other before basketing. For feeding we used Vanrobaeys, mixture 29, and Gerry from Versele Laga. For recovery we use Avipharm on arrival from the race, and on Monday they get probiotics. Between races, we train them by car two or three times a week, at the beginning of the season, and towards the end, we take it easier”, said Ionuț Ivănescu.
