A special performance was recently achieved by the Tunduc Family! World Marathon Category Champions in the FCI ranking, World Best Pigeon 2021. The deserving result is all the more exceptional as Marius Tunduc competes with a very small team of pigeons. 26 birds have started the 2021 season, being the most numerous team of the last 5 years.

Surprisingly, with this small team, the Tunduc Family competes from 100 km to 950 km (Berlin), as evidenced by the 2nd Place National ace Palmares Breeders Romania 2021, a category that sums up all the distance categories and this for two years! Another exceptional thing is that the Tunduc Family has been competing only with hens since 2017, being one of the few racing pigeon fanciers in Romania who have adopted this method.
In the marathon stages, Marius hired only 6 pigeons, and the start in 2021 was fulminant: 1st place Nurnberg 880 km, out of 8,409 pigeons with female 28223-19. The Nuremberg stage was an extremely difficult one, and the ranking list never closed. Despite this disaster, the Tunduc family ranked 4 of the 6 pigeons engaged.
Three weeks later, the same hen writes history by winning 1st National Stendal from 2,369 pigeons. Moreover, at Stendal Național only two pigeons managed to arrive on the first day and both pigeons belonged to the Tunduc Family! Basically, 50% of the pigeons engaged arrived on the first day, being the only pigeons that managed to reach all 3 marathons in the west on the first day! At the end of the National Stendal race, all 4 engaged pigeons returned home!
At the National Berlin race, Marius Tunduc risked the best pigeon that ever existed in Western Province of Romania (2 x 1st place) and, unfortunately, this super-was was lost. However, the Tunduc family occupies the 15th place at the National Berlin, ranking 2 out of 3 engaged hens.

With these exceptional performances, it is natural for many pigeon fanciers to want to know what the method used by the Tunduc Family is. Well, the system used is total widowhood. Hens are expected by males at home at every stage, and the facilities make possible a strong motivation that not many pigeons resist. Since 2017, when only hens compete, the Tunduc Family has participated in 14 marathon races and have obtained no less than 5 times 1st places in the pigeon rankings and 3 times 1st place in the breeders rankings! In total, they were no less than 31 times 1st place if we consider all the races in which they participated!
First place at the World Bert Pigeon Marathon 2021 is nothing more than a confirmation of the exceptional value of the loft and the genetic material held, all combined with the talent that makes them true masters of hens!
