Ionel Corfu, al doilea nemţean câştigător al unui premiu Gold Naţional

8th National place Long distance yearlings, 2nd provincial place Long distance yearlings, second county place Long distance yearlings, 29th National place all-round yearlings, fifth provincial place All-round yearlings, 2nd county place all-round yearlings, these are part of the results of the hen 2004968-2020 obtained in 2021. And as a culmination of these excellent results, this exceptional pigeon also won the 4th place in the National Gold, bringing to the fancier from Neamţ the grand prize worth 10,000 lei gross. The happy fancier who “produced” and selected this pigeon is Ionel Corfu from Neamt, a pigeon fancier who chose a Spartan method of preparing the flight batch and now, after years of selection, he is reaping the fruits.

A resonant name for pigeon fanciers in the Province of Moldova, Ionel Corfu from Neamţ has been competing since 2002, and the first very good season, in terms of results, was 2015. Then, the moldavian fancier won the 1st place national Long distance yearlings, 1st place national Long distance ace old birds category, 1st national place Long distance fanciers category, third national place Middle distance fanciers and 4th national place Long distance yearlings. The top results achieved that year seemed to be an unmatched peak, but in 2016 his pigeon performance was simply superlative, in a truly exceptional season in all respects: three pigeons met the Olympic norm ( Olimpic-869017-2013, Olimpic-0467825-2014 and Olimpic-0467860-2014), plus other very good results in the national championship: place – 1st national Long distance fanciers, 2nd national place Long distance palmares, 7th national Long distance ace palmares and 7th national place Long distance palmares.

“I train my pigeons a lot, by car”

Only by listing the results mentioned above, we can clearly see that the Long distance stages are his favorites. As there are probably many who wonder what the secret of such results is, Ionel Corfu admits that the hard training in which the whole flight group participates could be an asset: “I train them a lot with my own car, and I I think that’s something very useful. Between races, I take them to trainings in the morning and in the evening and I only stop when I achieve the speed that was targeted. I know it’s a draconian program and it’s difficult for other fanciers to put it into practice, but this method works very well for my team. ” The pigeons from the flight group are fed with a local food, produced by Ioan Feştilă, to which, as the case may be, he adds the assortment no. 56 – Lady Mix from Vanrobaeys, created especially for widowed hens. In terms of conditioning products, he chose the Belga-Vet (natural products) and Dr. Brockamp (Probac1000). The grit is offered in abundance, the pigeons choosing what they want from the 4-5 assortments offered.

Gold races, Ionel Corfu’s favorites

“The establishment of the Gold Long distance Club and the Gold Marathon was a very good idea, and this is due to the fact that it was and is a fair competition, and the cash prizes are consistent considering the standard of living in Romania. I sincerely hope that the Gold Marathon Club will take on the same scale and thus have the same success that the Gold Long distance Club has had since the first year. The norms are very good and the chances of winning are quite high if you have good birds and do your job properly. I bought Gold Fond rings from the first year and I will buy them every year, which I recommend to all my colleagues because otherwise I can’t win the prizes at stake. I ring all the chicks with Gold rings (around 60-70 ed. Chicks) every year. You can’t know which one will be successful and, thus, I avoid making mistakes”, Ionel Corfu concluded.
