Romania, Statistics for Long distance and Long distance ace: Oltenia, again in the lead

The long distance races are among the most beloved in Romania. In the national championship, with this type of stages the categories Long distance and Long distance Ace can be achieved, together with their subcategories, and for today, we propose you to observe together how things were in the 2020 season in these two particular categories. In order to achieve the top of the provinces and to highlight which were the most combative areas in the Long distance and Long distance Ace categories, we will remember where each national trophy was won and then, by awarding scores proportional to the place in the national ranking (place 1 – 3 points, place 2 – 2 points, place 3 – 1 point), we will achieve the well-known ranking of the provinces.

The areas where most of the national trophy winners in these categories come from are Oltenia, Muntenia and Moldova. In the west province, four national cups were won, of which three were for youngsters, and the only province in which no national trophy at the Long distance and Long distance Ace was won last season is Transylvania.

Again, Oltenia opens the ranking

In the categories that fall under the generic name of “one-day stages”, in the 2020 season, the pigeon fanciers from Oltenia are not absent from the national podium. Dominating the Short distancecategory and with very good performances at Middle distance, the pigeon lovers from Oltenia won the most national cups in the two categories we are dealing with today. Thus, at the Lolng distance, in Oltenia, the following national trophies were won: 1 National Long distance Old birds, 2 National Long distance Fanciers, 2 and 3 National Palmares Long distance, 1 and 2 National Palmares Long distance Fanciers. On the other hand, at Long distance ace, the following trophies are added: 2 National Long distance Ace youngsters, 2 and 3 National Long distance ace old birds and 2 National Long distance ace Palmares.

Muntenia is the next

Right after the pigeon fanciers from Oltenia comes the province of Muntenia. Here, a total of nine national trophies were won. After the 2nd National Long distance Yearlings, 2nd and 3rd National Long distance Old birds and 1st National Long distance Fanciers, we can say that Muntenia dominated the Long distance Ace category. We know about the latter that it has only a section dedicated to fanciers, so only 12 national trophies are available. As in Long distance Ace Youngsters, an almost impossible category, only two norms were achieved last season, so only 11 national trophies remained available, and the pigeon fanciers from Muntenia won no less than five, almost half. For example, they won all three national trophies from Long distance Ace Yearlings, plus the 1st National Long distance Ace Old birds and 3 National Long distance Ace Palmares.

Moldova is in third place. Western Province, in fourth place

As the number of national trophies won at Long distance or Long distance Ace, in the 2020 season, the province of Moldova is the third. Moldovan pigeon fanciers won 2 places National Long distance Youngsters, 1 and 3 National Long distance Yearlings, 1 National Palmares Long distance, 3 National Palmares Fanciers Long distance and 1 National Ace Palmares Long distance. In the same order of the number of trophies and not of their importance, the West province is the fourth. Here, four national trophies were won, two of the first place, ie the 1st National places at Long distance Youngsters and Long distance Ace Youngsters, and two places of 3 National, at Long distance Yearlings and Long distance Fanciers.

Summarizing the above information, Oltenia province has the most national trophies, but most of the 1st National places won (three) were won in Muntenia and Moldova. But, based on the score, the order is as follows: 1. Oltenia (20 points), Muntenia (18 points), Moldova (13 points) and 4. West Province (8 points). So, a fierce competition in the Long distance and Long distance Ace categories, so we can’t say that there was a clear domination of any province, being, rather, a joyful “dance” in three.
