National Ace is one of the Romanian Racing Pigeons Championship, the norm being full filled by ranking several races in all distance categories.
Like the National Speed Ace, National Ace Category is achieved by scoring 10 races. But, unlike all other categories of competition, between the 10 races nominated for the norm in this category, at least one race in each distance category must be found. So, penalty points will be accumulated as follows: at least one short-distance or middle-distance, at least one middle distance or middle distance-long distance one, at least one long distance race and at least one extreme long distance race. The score of the races that exceed the distance of 300 km is taken only from the general rankings, zone or county rankings. A specific thing is that National Ace is among the few competing categories in Romania the requirements of which apply equally to old birds, yearlings and young birds. Also, the Palmares for National Ace category is achieved by fulfilling the norm in two consecutive years, and at least one of the 20 races required for the National Palmares will be from the season in which the record is made.
Even if it is a very complex category, and, in order to meet the norm, the pigeons must fly even a marathon stage (over 760 km), National Ace is highly appreciated by romanian fanciers. For example, in 2018 not less than 457 old birds and 83 yearlings managed to achieve the norm for the National Ace category, many of them competing in races from 100 to over 1000 km.
