Not long ago, for the first time, the www.racingpigeons.ro portal presented a unique and exceptional initiative of a group of the marathon races fans, who aim that, in less than three years, Romanian fanciers will have the opportunity to compete in the standard race of world pigeon fancier, Barcelona International. The initiative group rented a loft from which the famous German fancier Raymund Hermes flew, located in Althornbach, within the radius of the club where the Kipp Family also flies, and they are ready to take the first steps towards achieving this dream.
As mentioned in a previous article, the project provides that a number of 15-16 Romanian pigeon fanciers will send, each, next year, 50 young birds to be trained on location and participate in the flight plan of the association where the loft is located. We are talking here about the “IG WEITSTRECKE” club, led by Hugo Kipp, a very close friend of the National Federation of Pigeon Fanciers in Romania. Perhaps Germany’s most famous club, “IG WEITSTRECKE”, brings together some of the most important “marathoners” who chose this area due to its ideal geographical position for participants in the established international marathon stages.
The pigeons will compete both in the races for youngsters in the year of birth and also in the stages of the next two years, until the Barcelona International flight. This means that the pigeons will fly, for example, at the age of one, the well-known Narbonne International marathon stage, where in 2021 more than 18,000 birds were entered. At the age of two, the pigeons, which will manage to stay in competition, will be registered at Barcelona International, and those who return will be able to be repatriated by fanciers at no additional cost. The annual participation fee will be between 4500-5000 euros, money from which will be paid the bird food, the medical care, the salaries of the two caretakers and the flight taxes. The pigeons will be competed in the name of each fancier, as they wish; by mutual agreement, the training and preparation methods, the flight and recovery method, the flight plan.
For more details and registration, pigeon fanciers who want to join this project are asked to call 0742020445 or write an email to zamfirsov@yahoo.com. We want to let you know that registrations can be made until November 6th this year, and, as mentioned above, the number of birds is limited.
