“Extreme Cup”, a new trophy for Romanian Marathoners!

Fans of marathon races from Romania have the possibility, starting with the new competitional season, to fight for a new trophy: „Extreme Cup”! At the National Conference held this Sunday in Sibiu, Marius Tunduc (foto), president of the National Federation of Pigeon Fanciers of Romania (FNCPR), presented to the participating members a proposal meant to recognize an extreme performance achieved in marathon competitions. So, it was submitted to the vote as the first three pigeons at the national level, which manage to be ranked for a minimum of 2400 km in two stages of the marathon, to be rewarded with the title of “Extreme Marathon”. The proposal was immediately embraced by the delegates present at the Conference, who, by an overwhelming majority, approved the president’s initiative. Three trophies will be awarded at national level, and the county associations or the provinces can have their own similar awards, if they wish, separated from the national one. The ranking, if there are more pigeons that meet these criteria, it will be established according to the same principle as for other norms. The scores achieved by the respective pigeons will be accumulated at the two nominated stages, thus obtaining a total one, which will determine the winners of the award. We’ll be back with more details!
